I first became involved with Dirty Vagabond Ministries through my husband who was working for the non-profit as a full-time missionary. I wasn't too sure what I was getting myself into (a southern-girl from white suburbia), but what I found was myself and everyone I had ever met in magnified form. What I mean is, I met a bunch of kids who had little to speak of, little to offer, and nothing to hold onto; and I saw them finding hope in the only thing any of us really have: Christ.

The ministry is doing what we were asked by Christ to do in its most basic form: sharing the gospel. Over the last few years, I've watched these dedicated missionaries tell Jesus' story over and over again. And I have seen teenagers connect themselves to the story in a way that changes their lives and, in a ripple effect, the lives around them.

I can't not be a part of it. And I can't tell you in words what it has done for me. All I can do is ask that you jump into the mess by donating a few dollars...money that will help these kids go on trips, have meals, and feel a part of something solid and lasting. Those simple constants in their lives are making a difference that you can be a part of.
