PeacePlayers International

PeacePlayers International uses year-round integrated basketball leagues to bridge divides, change perceptions and develop leaders in conflict and post-conflict communities around the world. Through frequent, sustained and structured interaction over the course of months, and even years, children in areas wracked by long-standing communal conflicts - South Africa, Northern Ireland, Israel and the West Bank, and Cyprus - can form new, shared identities through the power of teamwork.

All of PPI's programs are supported by its unique peacebuilding curriculum, which uses on-court activities and honest discussion to teach children proven methods of overcoming personal and communal conflicts. With a special emphasis on reaching out to the most underpriveleged and hardest to reach communities, and a commitment to rigorously evaluating results, PeacePlayers International is leveraging the transformative power of sport to improve the future of thousands of children worldwide.
