Please help me by supporting Hines Ward's Helping Hands Foundation.
My friend Jeff has been a Steeler fan since the day Joe Greene and several other players came to see him in Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh over 30 years ago. Jeff had just had an operation to remove a tumor from his spine and the surgery left him paralyzed from the waist down. He is afflicted with a disease that causes non-cancerous tumors to grow throughout his body. The many years in a wheelchair combined with this disease has left his body frail and mis-shapen. This causes great pain and pressure on his lungs and heart. He is in constant pain but is always up for watching the Steelers!
During warmer weather, I have been able to take him to training camp and several of the local basketball games the Steelers play and I was also able to get him to the last Super Bowl Parade, thanks to Mayor Ravenstal. However, Jeff is rarely able to get close to the players since his body is so frail and even a slight hit to his legs can break them. I would love to be able to take him to a football game to see the Steelers in person but neither of us has the funds to purchase a ticket and he would most likely not be able to see anything from a regular seat. By supporting my fundraising team, you will be supporting a very worthy cause and perhaps helping me make another persons dream come true. Thanks to all who help!
