The Mission of PWE: Providing leadership development, organizational support and a nourishing network of colleagues to equip women worldwide in their journey toward fairness and equality. Donations to PWE help us run programs promoting partnership with indigenous women worldwide to achieve equity and equality.
Women and girls throughout the world face obstacles, discrimination, poverty, and violence simply because they are female. In many societies, being born female limits opportunities and presents insurmountable challenges. For many women and girls, sex discrimination is compounded by other forms of discrimination related to race, ethnicity, income level, age, migrant status, and other conditions.
Grassroots organizations already exist throughout the world to improve the status of marginalized women, but they often struggle without sufficient skilled staff and leadership. Partners for Women's Equality (PWE) aids these organizations. PWE crafts partnerships that develop organizational capacity and support leadership development in organizations that empower marginalized women around the world.
Partners for Women's Equality provides leadership development, organizational support and a nourishing network of colleagues to equip women worldwide in their journey toward fairness and equality.
Women will have equal rights, power, and respect as valued members of the human family across all cultures and nationalities.
PWE has the following four programs promoting partnership with indigenous women worldwide to achieve equity and equality:
Kenya Girl Friends: This dual purpose program provides education for Masaai girls’ and teaches US girls’ about the issues faced by their counterparts living in Africa.
Wisdom Exchange Brazil - Afya Holistic Healing Center: This education opportunity provides US citizens with new skills and ideas for holistic healing.
Wisdom Exchange Guatemala: This is a partnership with Native Americans and Pop No’J to develop resources to respond against violence of Mayan women and children.
Bridge to Change: This unites Native American and other global indigenous women who work to eliminate violence against women and children in their communities.
