Park Square brings thought-provoking theatre to the stage for nearly 40,000 general audience members and 25,000 students each year!
Your contribution makes it possible for Park Square to bring the state’s second largest teen theatre audience to the edge of their seat and into the heart of the live performance.
Hours before you walk through our doors, teens are pouring into the building for their own “evening of theatre during the day.” From the confounded enchantment of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the triumph of justice in To Kill a Mockingbird, students leave here inspired by a new understanding of the human spirit. They are immersed in the entire process of theatre with hands on workshops, demonstrations and discussion. Their day at Park Square inspires empathy, build public speaking skills and ignite a deep connection to live theatre, all while helping teachers meet core curriculum needs.
Double your gift on Give to the Max Day, Nov. 15, 2012! Your contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $13,000 by retired Executive Director Steven Kent Lockwood. When you help us meet the match, we’ll have $26,000 to provide low-cost or free programs to as many as 2,600 low-income students!
“Upon leaving Park Square in September after 32 years, my way to say a meaningful “good-bye” was to give a gift to be used as a challenge for Give to the Max Day. The Theatre was such an important part of my life and watching it grow over the years has been my greatest joy. I am so proud of the importance the Theatre has in Saint Paul and the Twin Cities arts community. This special giving day is your opportunity to show what Park Square means to you, as I have done. Please join me in giving ‘to the Max’ for this amazing organization.” - Steven Kent Lockwood, Retired Executive Director, Park Square Theatre
