PARENTING RESOURCE CENTER INC

The Parenting Resource Center is a non-profit organization serving Mower and Freeborn Counties in Minnesota. We serve people of any race, creed, gender, ethnic background, age income or geographic location.

The agency vision is healthy, confident parents, families and caregivers that can provide for their children's physcial, emotional and developmental needs from birth through adolescence in communities that recognize the value of increasing protective factors and reducing risk factors so children and youth thrive. A core philosophy of the Parenting Resource Center is that parenting is a difficult and challenging responsibility, yet it is one of the life tasks for which people are generally least prepared. The Parenting Resource Center also recognizes that non-family members are caring for significant numbers of children. All parents, caregivers and professionals working with children and youth of all ages and their families need accurate prevention infomration, easily accessible skill-building edcuation, emotional support and problem solving assistance. The Parenting Resource Center is available to all families, with targeted services to specific populations that include single and divorced parents, low income families, Spanish-speaking families, families with children with disabilities and child care providers.
