Panama Missions Trip 2012

Our AG Women's Ministries is sending a team to Panama to help educate young women on the dangers of human trafficking.

Dear Friends,

I ask for a minute of your time to consider a difficult truth about the world we live in and the darkness of a problem close to my heart.

Every day, young girls and boys, 10 years old, or younger, are taken from their homes and transported, usually across international borders, to be sold into sexual slavery. Most are never heard from by their families again. These horrific crimes occur in nearly every single country in the world, including our own United States of America. In fact, someone is sold into sexual slavery in the US every ten minutes- and usually for less than the price of a cell phone.

My name is Teresa Hall. By the grace of God, I was spared from this very same fate when I was 18 years old. That was a few decades ago and my life today is truly a gift from God. However, there are those who are much younger, taken much farther from home and who are counted as lost forever and left for a fate perhaps worse than death. A fate with no future, no hope, no rescue.

I have an incredible opportunity to travel to the country of Panama with Bridging the Gap Women's Ministries to work with two missionaries who are fighting against the horrors of human trafficking. The trip takes place from July 27 through August 6, 2012. Panama is the busiest portal in the world, shipping young girls and boys away from their homes and into a lifetime of violence, brutal sexuality and slavery, with little hope for escape.

We will be working with high school aged girls- right in the schools, preparing them to attend a conference on the weekend of August 4-5. Our work will include testimonies, encouragement and exhortation to help these girls understand their value and worth so they can be better equipped to fight against the lies and trickery of traffickers.

Would you prayerfully consider supporting me on this trip? The total cost of the trip is $1600, plus the cost of a passport. I believe the Lord can use all of us as He makes a transforming difference in the lives of these girls. I am willing and ready to go and use my testimony and personal experiences to connect with these girls so the Lord can make a difference in their lives, but I need your help. More than anything, I need your prayer support that this trip can be instrumental in helping these girls escape a tragic fate and instead live with the freedom to be who He intends them to be. I also have another need. To be honest, without financial provision from God through people like you, there is no way I will be able to do this.

If you feel led to help me finance this missions trip, you can send your tax-deductible donation, payable to Bridging the Gap Ministries to me in the enclosed SASE.I need to have the first half of my trip paid for by June 1st and the remainder by July 1st. I thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration and help. I truly believe the Lord has asked us to partner in making this trip and serving the young women in Panama as He has directed.

With deepest gratitude and great expectations in Him,

Teresa Hall
