So glad there is a Church nearby, because I will certainly need lots of prayers, ha ha.

The Heart of the Valley YMCA has programs that build healthy spirit, mind & body for ALL in the community, regardless of income.

I am a native of Huntsville/Madison County, AL, & recall some of my older family members recounting activities at the old YMCA downtown. Today, they have several facilities throughout Madison County that offer membership to the community at large, respite child care, & summer camp in support of military families. They help make licensed child care & pre-school affordable for working single parents. They also have a program to help abolish childhood obesity. They have a variety of other programs, as well - something for almost everyone, including personal fitness training, group classes, boot camps, swim lessons, water aerobics, & kid's camps.

This particular fundraiser will provide money for 30 kids of deployed military personnel to attend camp, among other things. We owe it to our service men & women to help support the families that they leave behind while they are defending our own freedoms. This camp is a great experience for the kids!

You can help ensure that a kid gets to go to camp, that a young child gets opportunities at local YMCAs that they might not otherwise have, that families have a clean, affordable place to exercise, & that the YMCA can continue its mission here in our area.

When I was a little girl my grandmother often took me shopping in downtown Huntsville, & I well recall going past the Times Building, which once had the distinction of being "Huntsville's ONLY 'skyscraper'". I am personally beginning a new chapter in my life, & I am in the process of reconciling the past, present, & future, & thought that rapelling off of this historic buiding (which is a part of my past), by doing something that I never would have even considered heretofore (a part of my present) to help kids go to camp (reaching toward the future) would be a most fitting way to commemorate a new beginning while contributing a little something back to the community that I love! Won't you PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING ME MEET MY GOALS??? Every penny counts, so please feel free to give whatever you can afford to give! May God bless you for taking the time to read this, but most especially for your donation!!!
