We fight hunger and poor nutrition through cooperative garden projects, building community, health, and hope in neighborhoods of need..
Outgrowing Hunger empowers communities to create their own food security, growing fresh healthy produce within neighborhoods of need.
Help us to build the first Market Garden in East Portland! We spent 2013 engaging refugees from Bhutan, Burma, and Laos, working together to build a vibrant garden community.
For 2014, we are working to develop vacant land adjacent to our Neighborhoods Garden into a Market Garden, where food can be grown to sell in addition to home consumption. This is a fantastic opportunity for these new Americans to use their agricultural skills to earn cash for their families while contributing productively to our local food system.
