In July 2010, Pavel Stransky, a Holocaust survivor, accompanied our Centropa group to Terezin. Help us underwrite an interview with him.
One of the highlights of our summer academy in July, 2010, was having three Holocaust survivors accompany us to Terezin, Doris Grozdanovičová, Michaela Vidlakova, and Pavel Stransky. All three had lived through the horrors there.
Michaela's Centropa interview, complete with pictures and stories of her pre and postwar life, can be found on our website at the link below. And although Doris declined to be interviewed, our Czech project director, Pavla Neuner, went to visit Pavel Stransky just before his 90th birthday, so that we can preserve Pavel's remarkable life story, and pictures.
You can help underwrite this interview (translation into English, scanning photos, editing, uploading) so that by summer 2011, we can offer you and your students more than 40 old photos and a detailed autobiography by Pavel--including his remarkable career as a publisher during the Communist decades. We need a total of $2,000 to complete this project, and any amount you can send would be greatly appreciated.
Since many of you met Pavel, and walked the alleyways of Terezin with him, we hope you will consider a donation as an investment in a tool you will use in class for many years to come.
