The students of Mrs. Ott's First Grade Class have committed to nightly reading in order to raise funds for classroom technology.

The students in Ms. Ott’s class really enjoy many books but our favorite books are:

  • Chester’s Back because it’s funny. The mouse asked Chester what he wants and Chester said that he wanted Chester to dress up like a star on stage.
  • The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is a favorite of several students. They are funny books. For example, Greg plays funny tricks and pranks on his family.
  • Cat in the Hat is funny. We like the characters in the story. We especially like when Dr. Seuss named the characters, Thing 1 and Thing 2.
  • Nate the Great and the Stolen Bases is another favorite book. Nate spies on people.
  • We really liked reading Holly the Christmas Fairy because we liked the bad guy in the story and how the good characters win in the end.
  • We liked reading Stink Moody, the Solar System Super Hero. We like reading about science and it tells a funny story.
  • Charlie Brown comic strips. The characters act very funny. Charlie Brown gets upset with his friends, but they always stay friends in the end.
  • Wacky Wednesday because lots of unusual things happen on Wednesdays.
  • Get Out of My Chair because the dog doesn’t listen.
  • Books about Ethiopia. My father reads these books to me and I am learning more about my country.
