Please support me in raising money for the Michael Lisnow Rspite Center, which will grant me the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon!!
Hello, my name is Orit Trumper-Sela. I live in Israel, and I am married to Guy and the mother of 3 beautiful kids – Maya, Roni and Yoav. I am thrilled to get the chance to be part of this year’s Boston Marathon EMC Run as ONE team.
The team will run the Boston Marathon in support of the Michael Lisnow Respite Center. The Respite Center provides a numerous programs that benefit the community: weekend camps, after-school programs, adult day programs, and employment support for persons with disabilities.
The Respite Center is located less than a mile from the start of the Boston Marathon in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Each year the BAA (Boston Athletic Association) gives the Center a certain amount of official numbers for marathon runners. These runners in turn raise money for the Center. All (100%) of the marathon fundraising goes to providing direct services for adults and children in need of care. EMC Corporation, based in Hopkinton as well, is a leader in support for the Respite Center’s Scholarship fund, and to date has raised over one million dollars.
The 117th Boston Marathon will take place April 15th, 2013. This will be my first marathon. I was not planning on doing one – not this year, and maybe not ever. However, running a marathon as part of the EMC team and supporting such a great cause is not something I am willing to give up on. Practicing for a marathon and running one is a great accomplishment. Knowing that my running will make a difference to someone other than myself is truly inspirational.
My goal is to raise $2,500. This money will help keep the Center’s numerous programs alive, AND it will grant me the opportunity to run the marathon.
Please support me in achieving this goal by making a donation in any amount to the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center.
