Abshire Ongoing Travel Fund

The first trip to Puerto Lempira, Honduras was made in March, 2010. Having gone to learn about the Waits Family's future ministry, my middle daughter and I brought back testimony of the incredible need facing those living in the remote La Moskitia region of Honduras. Our family has joined more fully in the ministry serving in Puerto Lempira with short-term mission trip teams, by praying, and as part of the Reach Out Honduras Board of Directors. Stepping into the role of child sponsorship coordinator brought more opportunities to travel between the U.S. and Honduras as a liaison between supporters and sponsored children. Preparations are underway for our third trip as of this writing, and another Summer, '11 journey is in the planning phase. What began as an opportunity to learn about our friends' calling has become a ministry our whole family can embrace.
