One month's rent for youth tutoring center in Chicago

Cabrini Connections is a one-on-one tutoring and mentoring program for 80 youth who live in and around the Cabrini Green neighborhood of Chicago. The program's goal is first to draw students into regular participation, then to support their growth and development as they progress through school. All activities focus on increasing self-image, confidence and motivation to seek higher goals. Each student is matched up with his or her own personal volunteer tutor/mentor to meet with weekly at our site.

Our mission is to provide an organized framework that empowers and encourages volunteers to give their time, effort, ideas and support to seeking life changing solutions for children who live in educationally and economically disadvantaged environments, such as Cabrini Green.

Cabrini Connections also offers learning and enrichment activities such as weekly clubs, monthly field trips, and a College Zone. Clubs are Art Club, Video & Filmmakers Club, Tech Club, and Writing Club. Accomplishments of club members include filming music videos over the summer and designing logos for our Holiday Fund mailing.

Monthly field trips take students to local colleges, sporting events, community service sites, and more. College visits are an initiative of the College Zone , a physical space in our tutoring center where two volunteer counselors are on hand each night to assist students with applying to high schools and colleges.

Please support my cause by contributing an amount toward one month's rent ($5300) for next year. We have a beautiful 4500-square foot space near downtown Chicago where all of our youth come to meet with their mentors.
