I'm running the Country Music Half Marathon to help raise at least $2,000 in camper scholarships. You can help make it happen!

Welcome to my page!

In 2012 I had the opportunity to become part of an amazing ministry as I joined the staff of Barefoot Republic Camp. Little did I know that not only would I have a chance to make an impact, but my life would been changed as well. I have seen walls torn down between different races, cultures and socio-economic groups through the love and power of Jesus.

This past summer I was able to serve at camp for 7 weeks for campers in grades 1st-12th. I was able to watch approximately 700 students come together over the course of the summer and learn more about who God is and who He is creating them to be. I saw inner city African refugee campers and suburban upper class Caucasian campers come together to compete in team competitions and hours later worship together. It was a beautiful picture and through it I saw God's love and unity.

Barefoot Republic wants to give every student a chance to attend camp and experience these things and I do too. We want to take money off of the table for many families who can't afford to send their child to camp. Last year we gave away $125,000 in camp scholarships. 75% of our campers recieve some sort of financial assistance. You can be a part of making this happen in 2013!

This year I'm training for the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville. This is a new race and a new challenge for me. I'm excited and (not going to lie) a little nervous, but I know there are reasons why I run. Here are a few that are keeping me motivated.

Reasons I run:

*I run for girls like Kisha who camp to camp last year not knowing who Jesus was, and learning that He died for her. The Gospel will be shared again this summer!

*I run for families like the ones I had the privilege in calling last year to let them know that camp has been fully paid for. The sound of gratitude I heard in that mother's voice over the phone will keep me running.

*I run for the camperss who are the only one in their family who believe in God, like the girl who shared her testimony at camp last year while living in a Muslim family.

*I run for the campers who need hope, love and peace in their lives because they don't experience it at home.

*I run for the families that will be changed because of a summer their child gets to experience at camp.

*I run for the campers who will expierence unity through Christ's love for the first time.

When I don't feel like training, or think I can't take one more hill on race day, I will remember there is a greater purpose than me. I am just a runner making a difference in a child's life. Would you consider joining me in the cause of Run Barefoot by making a donation of any amount?

Thank you for your support and your encouragement! Come support Run Barefoot on April 27th!
