August Gate needs office space to have a physical presence in the community throughout the week. Can you get involved?
There is this principle I heard about a few years ago. It is called the steeple principle. Back a few generations ago in our country, everyone knew where to find the church because it was the building with the large steeple on top. We even had the children's rhyme "Here's the church, here's the steeple, open the doors and there's all the people." But I never quite understood what the steeple was all about. Until I heard of this principle. In years past, when you moved to a new town, were in town for a visit, or whatever...you might want to find the local church for prayer, help, etc. How would you find the church?
The steeple! In much the same way, people in the Soulard community need to know that August Gate is here and here to love, serve, and share the Gospel with them. Because we rent meeting space for Sunday nights only, an office space would provide us with the opportunity to put the "steeple principle" into action.
