Hello Family and Friends!

As an OCC VISTA Alum, I can't begin to tell you all of the amazing CHANGE VISTAs bring in their communities. In my experience as a VISTA, I had the opportunity to take 11 students to Wiggins, Mississippi to not only rebuild two homes, but also give 50 health kits, to victims of Hurricane Katrina. Not only did I provide volunteers to assist in relief efforts, but I provided an opportunity to challenge these students' thinking on poverty issues, to begin to ask deep questions, and to look at how to solve tough economic problems.

Please take the time to support this fantastic program! Even if it is only $5, it is well worth the money.

My story is only one, but there are so many good things going on in this program like community gardens, literacy programs for children and adults, food pantries for college students, etc.
