NIRS educates, mobilizes and empowers people and organizations concerned about nuclear power, radioactive waste, radiation & energy issues.

Giving Tuesday is a day--after the shopping madness promoted by big business is over--when nonprofits across the country encourage you to give back to your communities by supporting the nonprofits of your choice. We hope you will include NIRS in your choice.

This year, Giving Tuesday is December 2. Please donate to NIRS on this day and help build the safe, clean and affordable nuclear-free, carbon-free energy system our nation and planet want and need. As an extra incentive, NIRS will receive an extra 1% from all donations made by PayPal.

In addition, NIRS will be eligible to win additional awards if we are among the largest recipients of donations on this day! So, as they say, give early, give often....

Your support and activism make our work possible. Thank you for both.

It has been a remarkable couple of years for NIRS and the movement for clean, affordable, sustainable energy. Five reactor shutdowns; six proposed new reactor projects ended before starting; four power uprates cancelled--and solar, wind and distributed generation have achieved stunning advances that threaten (in a good way!) the entire business model of traditional utilities relying on dirty baseload power plants.

We'll be continuing and expanding on that progress in 2015. Most importantly, we'll be working with grassroots groups across the country in the states as each works to implement the EPA's new carbon reduction rules. This implementation poses both tremendous potential and terrible risk. We can take giant strides toward promoting clean renewables, energy efficiency programs and a 21st century grid or we can backslide into the nuclear nightmare of the 1970s and 80s.

Please make your most generous donation possible today and support our campaigns to ensure we meet our potential and finally end nuclear power in the U.S.

You can join and follow NIRS campaigns and other work at our website, www.nirs.org and by reading our new daily blog GreenWorld at www.safeenergy.org.

All contributions to NIRS are tax-deductible.

If you'd like more information about how we use your donations, please check our donor information page here: http://www.nirs.org/about/donor.htm

And if you'd rather send a check, please make it out to NIRS, and send to NIRS, 6930 Carroll Avenue, #340, Takoma Park, MD 20912.

Thank you so much for your support, and all that you do,
