Support Northwest Outward Bound's Pinnacle Scholarship program - provide life-changing wilderness experiences for under-served youth.
Northwest Outward Bound School has worked hard over the last 12 months to communicate with you, and by now, you know our stories well. Through these communications you likely know that we are dedicated to putting lower-income students on course; in 2013, almost 30% of our students received financial assistance. Supporters, like you, make this possible. By choosing to support our work TODAY you will qualify Northwest Outward Bound for additional contributions from the Razoo foundation and increase the impact of your gift. #givingtuesday
Outward Bound is far more than a series of wilderness courses. It is a community that fosters a way of life built upon care, compassion, and confidence. We are committed to instilling these values in each and every course participant. With your help we can ensure that the life changing experience is open to all regardless of means.
Your support will raise critically-needed funds to support our Pinnacle Scholarship program. The program matches community mentors with students who engage in course training and community service. The Pinnacle Program is designed to create confidence and leadership skills as it offers much wilderness experience to low-income youth.
If you have been following our progress over the last year you know that thanks to people like you, a group of passionate, motivated volunteers succeeded in raising almost $200,000 to reopen Washington’s Mazama Basecamp in 2013. You may also know that our students report a 15% increase in compassion and resilience and a 20% increase in goal setting and self confidence. These numbers show that by working together we can make a difference - let's take this momentum and ensure Outward Bond is available to all. Donate to the Pinnacle Scholarship Fund today.
“Because of this program I have learned what I am capable of. I have learned to find a kinship with people I likely never would have connected with, and I've learned that delicate balance between pushing myself and nurturing myself. I have a better idea of what I can possibly offer the world. And I know I am much more capable of making the world a better place because of this program and the people in it.”
Help us move from re-opening an important physical space to serving the next generation of students that emerge through it's doors and from each of NWOBS camps-Mazama, Odin, and the Portland Center. Help us raise $20,000 in Pinnacle Scholarship funds so that these camps can change the lives of those in need. Please share this cause with your friends and family to build our network. By working together, we have no doubt that we can reach this summit. To serve, to strive, and not to yield.
P.S. You may have received a fundraising letter from us in the mail recently. We wanted to be sure you had the opportunity to participate in this unique opportunity to qualify for additional funds throught the Razoo Foundation that will amplify your gift and impact through Giving Tuesday. #givingtuesday
