NORTH MINNEAPOLIS MEALS ON WHEELS

North Minneapolis Meals on Wheels has worked to address the serious hunger needs of the home-bound for over thirty eight years. This year our program will deliver over 43,000 nourishing meals to North Minneapolis residents who are nutritionally at risk and unable to prepare their own meals. This is a dramatic increase over the meal count in 2006 of 27,091 meals. We are experiencing a serious challenge to feeding our home-bound neighbors because of the need to replenish our volunteer pool and a shortage of funding.

The meals and the daily contact by caring volunteers help reduce medical cost, and improve the quality of life for our neighbors who are homebound by helping to keep them in their own homes.
