Funding investigations to rescue children & women from sexual slavery in SE Asia. Teams of investigators gather evidence & supports raids.
The Exodus Road began after one pastor-turned-investigator began to recognize the deficiencies of the the counter-trafficking community in SE Asia regarding the actual rescue of victims from brothels.
Through networking with both governmental and nongovernmental agencies in the area, he saw that many investigative teams lacked funding for operations, quality training, and professional grade equipment. Because many teams and individuals were working in isolation, there was also a lack of camaraderie, shared knowledge of current cases, and connection to the local authorities.
Over time, The Exodus Road was developed as a coalition fighting trafficking and empowering rescue.
We channel funds and resources from the West to the intervention efforts of the East. Our network currently has 11 supported organizations (including aftercare facilities) and 15 undercover operatives who come with a collective 622 victim rescues, 349 legal prosecutions, and over 61 years of experience.
Our team is from a variety of racial, faith, and organizational backgrounds but work together for the sole purpose of victim rescue.
Led by a Director of Operations in SE Asia, members of our team have worked to raid and rescue 12 underage victims (8 girls and 4 boys) since July 2012 in cooperation with the local government.
Currently, investigators are working NINE different cases including: a child pornography ring, a group that sells virgins, and several locked-up brothels.
For the month of December, we are hiring three full-time national investigators who will be working with our other operatives, but we still need operational funds for them to complete their investigations. The majority of victims are under the age of 18 years old.
We have found that an investigative mission, which involves finding and documenting evidence of sexual slavery along with potential raid expenses, costs us about $1,400 on average to complete.
Consider donating today and empowering a rescue this holiday season.
