Help me raise the funds needed to travel to Nicaragua and experience God's grace with the children in Casa Bernabe Orphanage!
Dear Friends and Family,
Year after year I have woken up on an early, warm, summer morning and joined a group of 30 high school students at Norfolk Airport. Accompanied by many parents and siblings, we bid then farewell, knowing they won’t return the same. Having an older sister and brother, this has been my story for the past 4 years. Through pictures, videos, and fundraisers, I have connected with the children in Nicaragua, although not in the way students who have taken the trip down south have. For me it’s a different kind of connection, one of heart, something unexplainable. During a long week of summer without many of my friends and my brother and sister, I anxiously await the day we venture back to the airport and greet the group. Everyone comes back glowing, (even though they are exhausted). Everyone is just so overjoyed and I can’t think of any other way to explain it than the Holy Spirit. I want to experience God's grace through working with these orphans in Nicaragua.
I have been blessed to have been accepted to travel to Nicaragua to serve the children in the Casa Bernabe Orphanage, outside of Managua.
You can be involved in my journey by helping me raise the financial support to make the trip happen. The trip costs a total of $1,750 per person including airfare, lodging, food, and other items. If you are able to send a donation, it is more than just money you are sending. You are allowing my friends and me to make a huge difference in a country that is struggling to provide for its people. It is easy to contribute on line: http://www.razoo.com/story.Nicaragua-Trip-2012-3?referral code=share.
I will need to raise all my funds by June 1st. Please contribute on line or you can make checks payable to Spring Branch Community Church with Raegan Thatcher in the memo line. You will receive a tax deductible letter when your donation is received. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is appreciated.
I look forward to serving God in Nicaragua and letting you know all about how God has worked through this team when I return in August. Poverty may be prevalent in Nicaragua, but the love is endless.
