Grace Church organized this fund for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy to assist in their immediate and long term recovery.
No parent should have to bury their child! Yet, over the Christmas holiday, twenty families buried their kindergartners, and six families will bury their educator heroes. Some of these families will have death insurance, but most do not. I have four children and somehow buying them insurance for funeral expenses seems fatalistic.
As a clergyman I can tell you that I’ve never attended a funeral with more emotional pain and loss than at the death of a child. Right now these families are meeting with funeral homes and having unthinkable conversations.
As my wife and I mourn the suffering of these families we wanted to do something. In her words, “How can we be free to celebrate Christmas when Newtown is burying their loved ones?” So that became our focus – helping these families in their immediate and long term recovery.
Debbie is working with National Service Charity to use our network to raise money for this purpose. You can trust that your donation will aid their recovery.
Join us in shouldering the burden of this tragedy by a generous donation.
God bless you,
Rev. Tim Locke

A Personal Message from National Service Charity –
We are proud to be partnered with the Reverend Tim and Debbie Locke who provided the vision and energy to launch this fund. Their family, and the leadership of NSC, are deeply grieved by this tragedy. We too have children at the ages of those who died. Please don’t let these 26 families bear a national tragedy alone. Thank you for your partnership during this sad affair.
