Mission

The New Israel Fund believes that ensuring Israel's peaceful and democratic future means building a society dedicated to equality, pluralism, and the rule of law.

Programs

A joint effort of Israelis, North Americans, and Europeans, the Fund works to safeguard civil and human rights, promote Jewish-Arab coexistence, advance the status of women, foster tolerance and religious pluralism, bridge social and economic gaps, increase government accountability, and assist citizen efforts to protect the environment. The fund invests in and supports three separate but related areas of activity: building the public interest sector through grantmaking and technical assistance to non-governmental organizations; developing leadership for democracy through civil liberties and environmental law fellowships and the SHATIL technical assistance agency; and providing publications and educational programs in Israel, North America, and Europe.
