A no-kill animal shelter for Italian Greyhounds in Nebraska and throughout the USA spending nearly 100% of donations on vet bills.
The Nebraska Italian Greyhound Rescue, an affiliate of IGCA Rescue, is a foster home based dog rescue organization, who helps homeless dogs in Lincoln and Lancaster county stay out of the large city high-kill shelters. We have been operating in Lincoln since 2004. Our volunteers put in thousands of hours each year caring for the animals in our program. Additionally, we host events for families to attend, annually coordinate the Rickman's Run Dog Park cleanup, and hold regular informational booths at many venues to educate the public about pet ownership.
We have NO PAID STAFF and utilize volunteers only, so all of your donations will go only toward the care of the animals. We also do not spend money on advertising because every dollar donated is utilized to the fullest extent to help the animals.
We are a no-kill organization, unless obviously a dog is suffering or too dangerous for placement in to a new home. All of out adoptive homes are screened and a home visit conducted before they are considered for a dog. And, EVERY animal is spayed, neutered, updated on shots, and other needs addressed as determined by a licensed vet.
Nationally, the Italian Greyhound Club of America Rescue helps over 800 dogs annually providing medical treatment as needed, and locating homes where the dogs will hopefully thrive and flourish as much as possible.
