NCGives is NC's only organization dedicated solely to growing & advocating for community giving among women, young people & people of color.

NCGives is North Carolina's only organization dedicated solely to growing & advocating for community giving among women, young people & people of color.

Since NCGives was founded in 2004 (and incorporated in 2010), we have supported more than 50 giving initiatives throughout the state, including the launch of 36 giving circles and youth giving groups.

We strongly believe that every giver matters to the success and strength of our communities, including:

...those who are young
...those who are women
...those who live in rural areas

...and those who are people of color.

However, many of these North Carolinians are not recognized (by community leaders, nonprofits, and even themselves) as legitimate, powerful givers, often because they're not what people expect a "philanthropist" to look like.

NCGives is on a mission to change that.

We're working to help North Carolina's people of color recognize and grow their power as givers.

We're advocating for people of color to be respected as philanthropists in their communities, regardless of what or how much they give.

And we're helping our state's nonprofits, community organizations and conventional philanthropic institutions to understand the benefits of valuing all givers, no matter what they look like.

If you believe that social equity starts with the idea that anyone can "be the change," we hope you'll support NCGives in our mission to make that idea a reality!

Your donation will help support our initiatives that are growing and advocating for community giving throughout the state, such as our Philanthropy of Community Pathways program (here's a snippet of a PoCP training in LaGrange, North Carolina) and our civic engagement work with high school youth (read about Rachel, a former Wilkes County student whose giving values recently landed her in the Pacific Ocean!).
