A project of TRI-ISLE RESOURCE CONSERVATION & DEVEL COUNCIL
Sponsor a native tree! Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project is helping to restore the forest in Nakula Natural Area Reserve.
The 2014 planting season is almost here! Thank you for sponsoring native trees!
On Maui, there is an immediate need to restore high-elevation forests. These forests provide the only suitable habitat for Maui's native honeycreepers. On the leeward slopes of East Maui, a restoration effort is underway. To create habitat, we must rebuild the forest. To rebuild the forest, we need to plant trees.
Hundreds of hours have gone into collecting native seeds. Now is the time to plant a forest and you can help! Every seedling planted brings us closer to habitat restoration and native forest bird recovery.
Your donation of $10 will sponsor a native tree: koa, ohia, mamane, pilo, akala, mamaki, aalii, kawau or kolea. We will send you a certificate of sponsorship and a photo of the restoration site for you to display proudly.
Mahalo for your support of native forest bird recovery and forest restoration on Maui!
