Investing in corrosion prevention; the education & advancement of our veterans and our youth; and the preservation of our infrastructure.
As experienced corrosion professionals approach retirement age, fewer individuals are pursuing careers in corrosion engineering to take their place.
NACE Foundation offers a number of programs directed towards encouraging individuals, particularly veterans and young students, to engage in the field of corrosion science and education. The NACE Foundation extends this commitment with Teacher camps, providing instructors with a unique, engaging platform for introducing math, science, and technology to their students.
One of its premier programs, “Workforce Development,” focuses on both job training and placement for military veterans and their families. NACE Foundation is number one in helping the men and women who protect our way of life overseas transition to good jobs protecting our infrastructure here at home.
With a declining workforce comes the diminishing ability to keep up with corrosion prevention demands. Corrosion control and prevention of the world's aging infrastructure is a major concern. Fewer experienced corrosion professionals to address these issues ultimately affects the ability for NACE to protect people, assets, and the environment from the effects of corrosion.
The NACE Foundation is taking action to address this issue now. We are the only organization dedicated to preparing the next generation of corrosion engineers who will protect the world's infrastructure from the effects of corrosion.
