My family started Beards for Hope in 2010 to honor my mom, Laurie Spence. My mom lost her life to lung cancer in March, 2010. Beards for Hope served as an amazing distraction for my family as we celebrated our first Christmas without my mom. It also raised $7,000! The following year we raised over $18,000!
All the funds from Beards for Hope will be donated to A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation, a non-profit organization in Minnesota dedicted to funding lung cancer research.
