MUP partners members are doing great things. Support Sarah Trembley's art project by funding art supplies for the project on June 9th, 2012.
This summer, Sarah Trembley, an emerging Minneapolis artist and Program Development Chair of the Minnesota/Uruguay Chapter is bringing 2 weeks of art lessons to the rural town of Migues,Uruguay, a 45 minute drive from Montevideo the capital city. Mostly a ranching and farming community, Migues recently has been committed to promoting education in trade schools and has a 65% job placement rate in careers such as; hair-dressing, bar-tending, locksmith, basic PC operator, pastry chef, etc. Sarah is interested in philanthropic projects in under-privileged areas particularly in Latin America. She believes there is more to art than simply aesthetic beauty; art has the ability to teach problem-solving techniques, raise self-awareness, develop engineering skills, become resourceful, and a host of other benefits. The lessons she will provide involve puppetry, a great introduction to sculpture and 3-dimensional reasoning.
