MPIRG's 40th Birthday Party

Over 40 years ago, the first MPIRG chapter was formed through a democratically established fee at the University of Minnesota. Students believed then, as they do now, that in order to stand up to the powerful entrenched interests they would need to be active participants in the public policy arena. In short, we are the leaders we have been waiting for. We continue that tradition today by working with our professional staff to conduct original research, launch advocacy campaigns, and agitate and rabble rouse until we see our elected officials reponsive to the concerns of our generation. We will not sit idly by and watch as current decision makers sell our generation short. But we need your help. Please give, and give generously. With it, we will be the next generation of leaders who realize the vision of more just and equitable world.
