We're raising money to print and install lamppost banners throughout downtown Mount Clemens. Banners will be designed by 9th-12th graders.

We've received a grant of $2,500 from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs to hold a banner-design contest for Macomb County 9th through 12th graders - but we need to raise an additional $1,500 in matching funds! Ultimately, we hope to print 24 banners at a total printing cost of $4,000.

This project is meant to get our county's youth involved in beautifying the county seat, to help them think about what "Michigan" means to them, and to get them engaged in the arts.

We want our youth to see their artwork out in public, where it will be visible all summer. We'll host walking tours of the banners, and we also hope to produce a podcast. Art + Youth = Community!
