The Montessori Training Center is committed to expanding access to quality education. For 102 years the Montessori method has proven effective for children around the world. Through our programs we are working to replicate the method and to bring authentic Montessori programs to children living in poverty.

For over thirty years, the center has provided teacher training for professionals in early childhood and elementary education in the Montessori Method. Through our current community campaign, we recently expanded beyond original offerings of teacher training to build a comprehensive educational institute. We have created a unique ‘hub’ for education, representing the only institute of its kind in the world. The center serves as a base to disseminate Montessori principles to low-income and diverse communities.

The expanded center features these four components:

Community Outreach: We are providing technical assistance and scholarships to extend the reach of Montessori education. We work in partnership with community-based organizations to establish quality programs in diverse and low-income communities and in public schools.

Cornerstone Montessori School: This model lab school enrolls ethnically and economically diverse children ages 16 months – 5 years of age. Over the next year, the school will expand to serve children through the age of 12. Through an aggressive scholarship program and connections to community aid, our school is able to serve approximately 70% low-income families.

Montessori Teacher Training: Our new center has enabled us to expand our Montessori teacher training course offerings. We are accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), the organization founded by Dr. Maria Montessori, and are one of just 13 AMI teacher-training institutions in the U.S. and 35 worldwide.

International Montessori Museum: This is a one-of a kind museum and research center has drawn visitors and educational leaders from around the globe.
