Missio Dei Costa Rica ~ Les & Diana Morris
Les & Diana Morris fundraising for MANCHESTER VINEYARD COMMUNITY CHURCH
Ordinary people serving an extraordinary God. And so, we go where He is sending us - to Los Anonos, Costa Rica.
EXPRESSING OUR HEARTS
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” ~ Jim Elliot
“I will not waste my life! I will finish my course and finish it well. I will display the Gospel of the grace of God in all I do. I will run my race to the end.” ~ Paul
MINISTERING HOPE
Helping people connect to God | one another | the world.
SUPPORTING, TRAINING, EQUIPPING
By helping young men and women to:
“Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to … not live unproductive lives.” Titus 3:14
WORKING WITH THE TIME GIVEN US
We are joining God in the work He is already doing through Rodney & Cindy LaFrance through Harvest Hands in Los Anonos, Costa Rica, a very poor barrio. People in this community commonly live in what most North Americans would think of as deplorable conditions, having only the most basic necessities, although a TV can often be found. mall 1 many have only small 1 bedroom houses without indoor plumbing are constructed out of scrap metal found washed up on the banks of the river running through Los Anonos.
Although these conditions are tragic, it is the lives of the people that are really broken. Illegal residents, school drop-outs, addicts living and selling in the streets, and more than 85% of both men and women admitting to having had extra-marital affairs. Everything points to brokenness, BUT Jesus points to HOPE! Paul writes: “Jesus our hope.” 1 Tim. 1:1
PAINTING A FUTURE OF HOPE TOGETHER
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Teams that work with us will work with Harvest Hands / Viña Anonos, ministering to children, teens and young adults, single moms, those struggling with addictions and others in need. Our ministry is very relational, so teams will visit homes, pray for people, share the gospel, help distribute food, medical and hygiene products, participate in children’s outreaches and teen activities. Teams may also help with construction projects and support other ministries that work in the community.
