The Minnesota Zoo's mission is to connect people, animals, and the natural world.
The Minnesota Zoo is a great place to watch playful snow monkeys, get nose-to-nose with a giant grizzly bear, and discover the Bali mynah, one of the most critically-endangered bird species in the world. It’s a place where kids can sit in a huge eagle’s nest. Where teens can take classes about conservation and learn about related careers. The Zoo is a place where everyone can learn about the successful reintroduction of Mexican gray wolves back into the wild. Most important, it’s a place where all people can come together to create special memories, have fun, learn and explore. And it’s a place that needs your help to continue to provide the valuable experiences and education that will make a difference in our natural world.
Your support will help us give more and more people the opportunity to connect with animals. When people have direct experiences with animals and learn about the real threats facing them, they are far more likely to care about their protection, as well as preserving the natural habitats that sustain them. And that's good for all of us.
We work hard to fulfill our mission to connect people, animals and the natural world by designing exhibits that provide guests with unforgettable experiences; raising awareness of the impact of our conservation efforts around the globe; and developing meaningful education programs for people of all ages. None of this work can be accomplished for free. While the Zoo is owned by the state of Minnesota, the state covers only about 31% of the Zoo’s budget. The balance must be made through earned income or donations … and that’s where you can make a direct impact.
Regardless of how much you can give, every gift to the Minnesota Zoo is important – every dollar makes a difference. With your help, we can continue to provide opportunities for people to create their special memories, have fun, learn and explore. The Minnesota Zoo would be honored to have you as a partner in strengthening the connections between people and animals. Thank you for your support!
