ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Minnesota Dance Film Festival is an annual event that celebrates and promotes the genre of dance film. Dance on screen, or “screendance,” is a unique cinematic experience that focuses on the intersection of cinematography and choreography. Cinema Revolution Society is one of the handful of organizations in the United States that present dance-inspired cinema and is dedicated to fostering and promoting the vibrant art of dance film. CRS has presented three successful annual dance for the camera film festivals showcasing the talents of over 100 local artists presenting a range of performance aesthetics from contemporary to classical and alternative dance films. The public forum offered by the Minnesota Dance Film Festival interconnects diverse populations and brings audiences in through the unique cinematic experience of dance film. This years MNDFF partners with notable venues and organizations: The Southern Theater, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and the Germanic-American Institute.
