The Michelle Project is a volunteer-led program for low‐income families who are struggling to find stable, successful lives for themselves.

The Michelle Project is a volunteer‐led program for low‐income and/ or single–parent families who are struggling to find safe, affordable housing, better jobs, and a stable life for themselves.

Some are emerging from abusive situations, and all are in desperate need of emotional support, advocacy, and temporary financial assistance while they build a healthy network of support that lifts them out of a hopeless situation.

The Michelle Project addresses the issues of working families and single mothers struggling to find safe, affordable housing, better jobs, and a stable and sustainable life for themselves. The Michelle Project differentiates itself from other transitional housing programs by continuing to remain in relationship with “graduate moms” and their families long after the 12 to 15 months of “official” mentoring and financial support have come to a close.

The unique community created by our program model has resulted in celebrations of moms finishing their education, buying their own homes, and finding and moving upward in sustainable quality jobs. They are also stepping forward to mentor new moms and help in the operation of the Michelle Project itself.

"The Michelle Project taught me that I could be loved, that dreams and goals are possible and always to have faith. It has brought me financial help, support, a big family with a wonderful big sister, and faith. Last year I made a lot of big decisions and commitments that changed my family’s life for the better. If it wasn’t for the Michelle Project, I wouldn’t be where I am today!" - Recent Michelle Project Graduate
