Marathon for Slum Kids
Michelle Brown will run 26.2 miles to raise $$$ to support a dynamic Christian sports ministry for slum kids in India.
Hundreds of kids show up weekly to learn to play soccer from caring coaches. Over time, the kids begin to trust and rely on their coaches, who lead with compassion and grace. They learn that they have true HOPE and say YES to the gospel message after a practice or a game.
Born into extreme poverty in a Hindu caste culture, these kids embrace the tools for change, boldly moving beyond their helplessness into a promising future. Their coaches encourage them every step of the way.
Today they play soccer on a dirt field bordered by human waste and filth, with the sounds and smells of idol worship and squalor. One day their surroundings could be vastly different, even perhaps like yours and mine.
Will you support me as I run The Phoenix Marathon on March 2, 2013?
100% of Fuel the Mission's proceeds are tax-deductible and will go directly to the sports ministry.
