MG2010 West: Direct Relief International

We work with legendary efficiency; for each of the past nine years, each dollar spent has leveraged between $21 and $37 worth of medical material aid for our worldwide partners.

Thanks to a bequest made by a longtime donor in 2007, we cover all administrative and fundraising expenses internally so that all contributions can go 100 percent to programs. We're also the only charity that's licensed as a wholesale pharmacy in all 50 U.S. states, giving us a unique ability to distribute medicines to over 1,100 domestic clinics and community health centers around the country.

Outside evaluators consistently rank us among the most highly regarded charities in the nation. Direct Relief has received among the highest ratings of any U.S. nonprofit from Charity Navigator (“four stars”), the Chronicle of Philanthropy ("California's largest International charity"), and Forbes (“99% fundraising efficiency”). Direct Relief is also a member of the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance.
