Tiger Haven is a forever sanctuary for Great Cats rescued from human cruelty, abuse, and thoughtless humans.

The 286 big cats who come here for sanctuary are given a permanent home. They are not sold, or given away and Tiger Haven does not breed the cats or make them work for a living. The cats here enjoy the good life, and they deserve it. Tiger Haven is situated on 60 acres of wooded property. Enclosures fill up about forty five acres. A perimeter fence surrounds all the enclosures and living quarters, and a roadway runs between enclosures and around the perimeter fence to facilitate feeding, maintenance and security checks. The Tiger Haven facility meets or exceeds regulations set forth by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, which are among the most stringent in the nation. The enclosures are designed for the cats that will live in them. Tigers and lions have room to run and climbing cats have places to climb. Enclosures for any cats other than lions and tigers have tops on them to prevent the cats from climbing out. All enclosures have sun decks and dens. Dens are enclosed in the winter for warmth. We have a large inground pool for the tigers to rotate through in the summer, since tigers enjoy swimming. All the cats here enjoy peace and quiet without any public viewing.     The animals appear quite happy, healthy, and they are obviously well cared for. (I loved hearing that deep tiger "purr.") I am glad that they are not exhibited, but allowed to live out their lives in relative freedom without fear of being hunted, caged, or mistreated.

    Tiger Haven is an excellent organization to contribute to. I have been contributing to them for years now. Their caring and compassion in speaking out for those who cannot speak for themselves is stellar.

    I support Tiger Haven because they step up when others bail on or fail at what should never have been attempted in the first place and when novelty has become neglect and cruelty. God bless them.

    Thank you for caring for these beautiful endangered species. There are so few tigers left in the world. The least we can do is care for those who were initially cared for by people but then abandoned.

    Except for sanctuaries like Tiger Haven, it's a sad commentary that these magnificent cats have lost their voice in the frantic stampede of mankind. Perhaps Lewis Carroll said it best: “'O Tiger-lily,' said Alice, addressing herself to one that was waving gracefully about in the wind, 'I wish you could talk!' 'We can talk,' said the Tiger-lily: 'when there's anybody worth talking to”. Heaven help the cats, because too few listen.....and Thank You Tiger Haven
