MICAH organizes the interfaith religious community to change public policies to ensure that everyone has a safe and affordable home.
As people of faith we are called to act on our communal responsibility to seek long term solutions for justice in housing. Our congregations build strategic relationships with community leaders and public officials to change public policies and community attitudes to create new opportunities and maintain the supply of affordable housing.
MICAH's work has changed:
People: Over 5000 families have an affordable home because MICAH leaders created the political will in communities throughout the twin cities to approve new affordable housing development.
Communities: Over 30 urban and suburban communities have changed their local policies to make it easier for affordable housing to be built.
Make an investment: For every dollar invested in organizations like MICAH $138 in benefits was realized for Minnesota communities. (Study by National Council on Responsive Philanthropy)
