Team Running for Cover is running the 2013 Boston Marathon to raise funds to support MFNE's mission of education, prevention and support.
Had it not been for my close friends and family, I don’t know how I would have made it through the news I received in July of 2010. The strange looking mole I’d been ignoring was malignant melanoma. The following year I was blessed to be able to balance my family, work, and 3 surgeries for wide melanoma excision and lymph node removals… all with the help of my friends and family.
I am asking for your help again! I am blessed with my health and have learned to embrace everyday my crazy life brings. In honor of all of those that are not as fortunate, I have committed to running the 2013 Boston Marathon for Team Running for Cover, to help raise funds for melanoma prevention and awareness.
Please take the time to view this short video clip, “Dear 16 year old me,” and even if you are unable to give at this time, look at your moles, keep
track of their changes, and see a dermatologist!
Since it's inception in 2006, Running for Cover has raised over $1 million to support MFNE. I am thirlled to be a part of this team for the 2013 Boston Marathon.
Help me cross the finish line by donating to my fundraising efforts. Together we can help reduce the incidents of Melanoma.
Update- February 2013. I am currently running 5-6 days a week, with shorter weekday runs between 4-8 miles and long runs between 16-18 miles on the weekends. Not a mile goes by that I don’t realize how blessed I am to be able to run, although I have questioned my sanity a few times the past couple of weeks! The race is about 6 weeks out and my big 4-0 is even CLOSER! Thanks to all for your generosity so far. Please know that every dollar you give goes straight to the Melanoma Foundation. Kevin and I are completely funding the trip to Boston, accommodations, and all other marathon associated costs ourselves.
Early detection of melanoma saved my life. With your generosity, it can save so many others!
Thank you for your support!
