Mayaya school, Haiti, May 4-11

For several years now our home school group has been partnering with Bright Hope to raise funds to support the 40-50 students at the Mayaya school. The meal that they recieve each day is, for some, the only meal of the day. The school has a couple of teachers and a blackboard. No electricity or running water, and no latrine as of yet. The students each have a notebook. We are going to Haiti in May with a small team of moms and kids to meet the students and teachers for the first time. Our hope is to build relationships with the students and their families, have fun with the kids, and encourage the teachers. In turn, we hope to have our hearts softened anew and taught by the wonderful and resilient people of Haiti, and to return with renewed vision to continue to support them. We are hoping this will be an ongoing relationship. This page is to let you know of our adventure ,and to give any who are inspired to, a chance to give.
