Bringing Education to Impoverished Youth throughout the World

This year, I am extremely pleased to be working on the North Peninsula Jewish Teen Foundation (NPJTF) for the second year in a row, this time as a member of the Leadership Council (LC). We are a group of 23 Jewish high schoolers who work together to create a mission statement and raise funds to help a specific cause. This year, we have decided to help bring youth education. Our mission statement reads,

The NPJTF will fund organizations that support educational and vocational programs to help youth in impoverished communities and Israel.

Education is such an important aspect of life that so many people don’t have access to and is something that we overlook and take for granted. While many of us complain about how much homework we have or an essay to do, there are millions of kids out there who would do virtually anything to be attending school. I am so fortunate to have all of the educational opportunities that I’ve had, but it saddens me to see how many kids my age don’t have these opportunities. It’s an unfair reality and I am striving to help fix it.
