Giroux Runs Boston
Matthew Giroux fundraising for uAspire
I am raising money for UASPIRE in support of their goal of removing all financial barriers to students reaching their full potential.
Dear Friends and Family,
On April 15, 2013, I will be participating in the 117th running of the Boston Marathon! This may not be news, since as you may know I have completed this race 3 times before and I have come to love running, and in fact I am borderline obsessed with it.
However, what is different about this year is that I have chosen to not only run the 26.2 miles but also fundraise for a well deserved non-profit organization, uAspire. This year will be special for me because it will be my first Boston Marathon that I will have an official number (and therefore recognized by the B.A.A).
I was connected to uAspire by Liz, who works there as part of the External Affairs Team. It is a really neat organization that works to ensure that all young people have the financial information and resources necessary to find an affordable path to - and through - a postsecondary education. Their programs work with students and their families from middle school to high school through college graduation, ensuring that finances never get in the way of potential.
uAspire has helped students secure more than $150 million in financial aid in the last three years alone. uAspire has helped more than 50,000 students achieve their dream of higher education.
I hope you will support my efforts in both running the Boston Marathon and reaching my goal of $6,000.
Thank you so much for your support!
Matt
