Love for Jesus + love for India's slum kids + inspiration from my sister + love for sports = running a marathon!
My sister's family ministry (Fuel the Mission) is working in India where they are helping to build a home for adopted Indian girls. There are currently 19 girls who have been rescued from death, literally. Along the way my brother-in-law Chris, met a man who started a sports ministry (soccer) for Indian slum kids. These kids have a love for soccer and they play for coaches who love them and love Jesus. In fact, many of the coaches grew up in the same slums. They became Christians through this ministry and now invest themselves and their families back into the lives of these kids. Churches are emerging out of these soccer teams as families and friends of the players are coming to hear about Jesus and believing in Him! So, giving to fund the ministry to these teams is a way YOU are helping plant churches in India. I want to support this sports ministry and its coaches as they proclaim and model Christ to the "lowest" of India...and the "greatest" to God.
Why I'm running a marathon:
My sister Janet committed to run in the Phoenix Marathon on March 2, 2013 in order to raise money for this ministry. She asked for help...I decided to GIVE and RUN with her! Recently, God provided some "donated miles" through generous friends, so I could join the rest of the team in Phoenix for the marathon!!! As a team member, I set a personal goal of $1,000 toward the team goal of $10,000, which would sponsor all the teams for one year. If what I've shared has excited you, then please give to help us. Look to the right and you can select a gift amount. Thank you for praying, giving, and loving Jesus. "As you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Matthew 25:40
