The annual Mark Kelly Memorial Fund honors the spirit of one of our early volunteers Mark Kelly who served RFF until his passing in '09.

From our inception in 1996, Recycling Furniture for Families (RFF) has relied upon thousands of volunteer hours to accomplish our mission. Without these countless volunteers who dedicate their invaluable time and talent it would be impossible for RFF to service our community in the way we do. Many of our volunteers are highly visible working with clients, delivering furniture or working in our warehouse. Other volunteers are less noticeable working behind the scenes in pivotal roles. Mark Nicholas Kelly was a compassionate and vital volunteer who who kept RFF’s computer network running fluently for many years. Mark also upgraded donated computers to be given to the familiies that we serve. Mark's dedication to our organization was profound and selfless as he regularly checked in to make sure everything was running fine during his personal vacations and other commitments. Mark’s unexpected death in February 2009 left a void not only in our mission but in our hearts. He was 45 years old. To keep alive Mark’s legacy and his love for our ministry, RFF and The Kelly Family established the Annual Mark Kelly Memorial Fund Drive. The drive is designed to kick-off every August when RFF’s funds are, by and large, at their lowest point and to commemorate Mark’s birthday. Each August we encourage you to echo the spirit of Mark by donating funds or your time to RFF. Whether you knew Mark or not, his passion for volunteerism served as a standard of openhanded grace that RFF and all other ministries and not-for-profit organizations must thrive from. Please consider giving generously and purposely to honor Mark Kelly, a volunteer who will not be forgotten. Donations may be made to: RFF, 515 N. Center St, Bloomington, IL 61701 with the inscription: Mark Kelly Fund. Thank you and may God Bless You.
