I need your help! I am going to Puerto Lempira, Honduras on June 15. Please help send me there.
Dear Friends and Family,
I am writing this to you because I need your help. You may or may not have heard that I am leaving. On the 15th of June I will be going to Honduras to help Alex and Laura Waits. The Waits have been in Honduras for two years and are associated with three orphanages there in Puerto Lempira. Eventually they would like to build a Christian school, since a no cost education is such a great need there.
I will be flying from Huntsville to San Pedro Sula where I will be meeting up with the mission team from the Waits’ church in Texas. We will be taking a van from there to La Ceiba, then a small plane from there to Puerto Lempira.
For some time now I have felt lead to do mission work, and hopefully someday I will be able to lead medical mission trips. This is the direction God has lead me and He has given me a heart for this work. I hope this is the first of many doors to be opened for me. I will be in Puerto Lempira for a month and while I am there, I will be helping build a fence around one of the orphanages, working in the local hospital, helping at the House of Hope, and helping the Waits in any way I can. The House of Hope is a place set up by an American doctor for partially disabled children.
First, I would like to ask for prayer. This is my greatest need. Pray for my and the team’s safety. Those of you who know me well know that I am quite accident prone. Pray for my humility, that I would be humbled and that I would boast in nothing but the Lord. Most of all, pray that I would not come back unchanged and that God would light a fire in my heart. Also, I need your help with the cost. The price of this trip will be $1500.00. I don't want you to feel obligated in any way to give, but if you feel lead to do so, I will be grateful for your part in my service there. Your donation will be tax deductable.
“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.'” - Matthew 18:2-5
