The Marietta College Concert Choir has been invited to perform at several prestigious venues in Great Britain and is seeking your support.
Hello Family and Friends!
Many of you have been in my life for very many years and know how much music means to me. My whole life has been about music. When I was 5 years old, my mom entered me in St. Martin of Tours Children's Choir (thanks Mom!), and I joined choir in my school when I was in third grade. Since then, I have sung in every school choir I could, as well as every choir at my church. I was selected to participate in All State choir, and I went to the Long Island High School for the Arts for two years.
I started singing, and I couldn't stop. When I was a senior in high school, I made the decision to make music my life and my career. I came to Marietta College and fell in love with music even more. I became a part of the Marietta College Concert Choir family, and in my last three years, I have helped with all of our events in some varying capacity. This year, I am the Choir's President.
In my time, we have toured though Ohio (a good starting tour for a girl from New York!), the Midwest (Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Minessota, and Missouri), and the South (Tenessee, Virginia, Georgia and Florida). This year, we are touring through England and Scotland, making stops in London, Oxford, Stratford, York, Edinburgh, and, my personal favorite, Glasgow! I am very excited, not only to tour these wonderful sights and share this beautiful music with my peers and the world, but I get to return to a place where I have created years and years of wonderful memories with some very important people in my life. This trip will be my first return to Scotland in just over 6 years. I will get to see my aunts and uncles, my godmother and cousins, one of whom I have not actually met yet (yes, Livvy, I'm talking about you!).
I am always a little uncomfortable asking for help with things, but this trip is very important to me. I understand that money is very hard to come by right now, and if you cannot make a donation, that is okay. But, if you can, every little bit helps. If you can donate $20, or any amount, it is a great start towards our trip.
If you are interested in joining our tour of Scotland and England, please check out http://music.marietta.edu/England/ for more information.
Even if you can't make a donation, please feel free to send me a letter or an email and tell me how things are going. There is nothing nicer than getting mail at school, and I would love to hear from you.
Our choir really needs your support to be able to make this life-changing experience a reality. If you can, please donate a little, or a lot- anything to help defray our costs. Every little bit helps. Being able to go on this trip will be the cherry on top of a fantastic four years, and I would love to be able to say that you supported all of us in it.
All my love,
P.S.- my school address is as follows:
Marietta OH, 45750
and my email is email@example.com
