Juan, a victim of a shooting, comes to HERO because he lost his job due to the long recovery time. He is unable to afford the needed wound care supplies to help him heal. Partially deaf and blind, Shirley also uses an electric wheelchair to get around. She feels unsafe in certain situations and had been looking for a manual wheelchair for the past 10 years.
